End of the August traditionaly belongs to Grand Prix of Slovakia. There will be tough competition again but also one very insteresting car.
Miro Konopka will be racing his Ligier JS P217 Gibson which belongs to LMP2 class. Konopka himself and his team mates Calko and Breukers took 19th place in LMP2 class in 24h Le Mans in June.
“Our start in 24h Le Mans had wide response and fans wanted to see our car. We don’t race regularly in FIA CEZ or Slovak championship so we don’t need to colect the points, we decided that we will race in sprint races on Slovakia Ring with LMP2 car,” said Miro Konopka about this extraordinary start.
“We will race only in sprints in D5 class, but we will collect points only for Slovak championship because FIA CEZ don’t have LMP2 class,” added Slovak driver.
