The Sunday Sprint at Hungaroring where summer temperatures heated up black tarmac, was again under the control of Richard Chlad with the Audi K & K Racing team.
However, today’s victory did not come for free. Josef Záruba in his Huracan grabed first place right after the start and defended his position until about half of the race. However, the black-and-gold Audi was unstoppable today. It looked like Záruba overcook his front tires and his car seemed to be understeering heavily. Finally he could not resist Chlad and lost his lead.
The whole field then jammed together with safety car phase due to Gregor Zsig’s standing car. Excellent fight broke up between Knoll, Záruba and Marcin Jedlinski who started again from the back of the field. Jedlinski was able to win the battle for the second place even though he had a small collision with Tomas Erdelyi.
Josef Záruba finished third in the second sprint season, fourth came Jakub Knoll in BMW M6 GT3. Top 5 was concluded by Miro Konopka, who started as well as Jedlinski from the last row of the starting grid. Victory in the D4 -3500cc class grabbed Milovan Vesnic followed by Hungarian Jedlóczky and his countryman Hatváni.
