Drama. This is probably the best word to describe the first sprint in Brno of above two litres category. Josef Záruba became its absolute winner despite all pre-race estimates.
Things started to heat up right in the first turn. After a serious collision, Svoboda, Jakubík and Stanislaw Jedlinski gave up the race. Moreover, even Jakub Knoll was forced to withdraw from the race after he got in contact with Marcin Jedlinski. Consequently, the race was restarted behind the safety car.
After the race was resumed, the four racers – Záruba, Chlad, Jirásek and Hotz were competing fiercely. Finally, it was Josef Záruba who was celebrating his victory when he kept his distance from Richard Chlad and Aleš Jirásek. The latter one took not only the second place in total but also victory in D5 category.
Richard Chlad finished third in total and second in D4 – such was his balance after Saturday’s sprint. Benjamin Hotz ended up fourth although he won the yesterday’s qualification. The third position in D4 was claimed by Filip Sládeček. Marcin Jedlinski came fourth after a trendemous chase which he started from the bottom of the starting grid.
Denis Waszek finished seventh in total, Miro Konopka was eighth, Petr Lisa ninth while Maťo Konopka ended up tenth.
