Some like it hot, FIA CEZ continues in Croatia

By Thursday August 2nd, 2018Races

The Fourth round of the Central European Zone Circuit Championship will continue this weekend on the hot asphalt in Grobnik. This technically demanding track is just a stone’s throw away from the port city of Rijeka.

The Croatian weekend promises an interesting spectacle. All the FIA CEZ top drivers will show up on this not so well-known track. Marcin Jedlinski, the leading man of the series will again have to defend the attacks of his greatest rival, Richard Chlad Jr. However, Josef Záruba, Jakub Knoll or Jakub Kubas will surely want to mix the cards also. The BMW Z4 GT3 of the Brno team, Šenkýř Motorsport will be driven by Tomáš Erdélyi, we will also see the family duo father and son Konopka, who will arrive in Croatia with a pair of Huracans. While Matej sits in the cup version of the car, Father Miro enjoys a full-blooded GT3 special.

There will also be a plenty of TCR cars, most of which are used by drivers from the Balkan peninsula.

All the monopost title contenders will be present. The participation of for example the Italian stars Andrea Cola and Paolo Brajnik and the fast Pole Mirecki, promises a thrilling spectacle.

The endurance race will certainly be an interesting battle. It will be especially challenging for drivers who have will drive the whole hour without changing, like Miro or Matej Konopka, Marcin and Stanislaw Jedlinski, Tomáš Erdélyi or Jakub Knoll. Jakub Kubas will have a very interesting team-mate. Štefan Rosina, who is racing sporadically now but is always expected to be among the fastest drivers in the field. The endurance race will take place on Saturday evening, while sprints are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
